I just signed up for Search Marketing Expo – SMX East 2013 yesterday and I am very excited about it! SMX is a global search engine marketing conference series hosted by Third Door Media. SMX East is hosted annually in NYC (I think). Other SMX locations include Las Vegas, San Jose, Seattle, Stockholm, Milan, Jerusalem, Munich, London, Sydney, and Paris. Maybe I will be able to attend one of these global conferences one day so I can compare how search marketing differs in other countries.
SMX East 2013 features over 50 sessions of SEO, SEM, and social media marketing tactics over multiple tracks that increase web site traffic, boost conversions, and sales. On top of that, they have an expo hall with many great vendors/solutions providers and two theaters with continuous presentations. (I am not getting paid to say this, I swear).
I actually first heard about the SMX conferences two years ago when I started my first co-op position as an internet marketing intern. LinkedIn conveniently reminded me that the 2013 conference hosted on the east coast is coming soon; and when I saw some of the track sessions on the agenda, I knew immediately it is something I want to attend.
I am very lucky to be sponsored by my company to attend this conference with an all access pass (they are very supportive and fully understand the importance of marketing to the company’s growth), so I will be able to participate in any of the conference sessions being held, along with access to speaker presentations online.
For those of you who on a budget, but are just as passionate about digital marketing as I am or simply want to learn more about it, SMX offers an Expo+ pass, which is free if you pre-register! The Expo+ pass will allow you to access the expo hall, participate in any of the “plus” sessions, and attend all of the presentations in the SMX Theater. You will be able to attend the keynote presentation by Richard Alfonsi of Twitter and four of the plus track sessions are hosted by Google executives! This is an awesome opportunity to network with speakers, vendors, and other like-minded attendees; all for the low price of, well… free! Don’t miss out and come for two days of learning and networking.
I will most likely be sending some tweets during the conference and will write a follow-up post to briefly summarize my experience there.
I hope to see you there on October 1st!
